Bray Film Studios is a thriving film studio close to Windsor. Originally established in 1951 as the home of Hammer Films, the last few years it has successfully hosted several significant film and TV productions.
Dendy Byrne were instructed as project managers to appoint a team and obtain planning consent to develop and extend the studio accommodation.
The original site needed to be expanded and upgraded to suit modern film production requirements. The development proposals extend the studios to a total of nine soundstages, along with workshops, production support facilities, a rehearsal building, campus cafe and backlot. Once complete the facilities will provide 31,000m2 of new and refurbished accommodation in a landscaped setting.
In readiness for the future development, we have also been managing the upgrade of the site-wide utility infrastructure and the provision of a new 12MVA power supply.
The Lord of the Rings the Rings of Power series is currently being filmed at Bray Film Studios.
The development will be targeting net zero carbon and will include electric vehicle charging points and photovoltaics to provide up to 500 megawatts of electricity.
